We are the product of the vision and hardwork of Don Milton Raúl Toro Santiago and his family.

Comercial Toro Inc. History

1969

While he took care of his farming business, Raúl also managed in his backyard a small business of retail sales of concrete blocks, gravel, sand, and ceramics. Also, upon request he offered services with his "digger". His wife Lucila took care of the sale orders during the day and Raúl would deliver them to the customers upon returning from the fields in the afternoon, or early the next morning.

1970 Noticing the service and good treatment they received from this family, the customers started requesting for other construction materials. Comercial Toro was established on the first floor of Raúl´s residence using as storage facility a wooden barn. Lumber was added to the inventory to please the customers.
1971 Puerto Rican Cement gave Raúl the opportunity to sell Cemento Ponce, Cal Florida, and others. With God´s help and with his customers´ patronage in Cabo Rojo and surrounding towns, Comercial Toro continued growing adding warehouses and other physical facilities that allowed to increase both the volume and the variety of inventory.
1976 Bloques Cofresí was adquired. The sales of concrete blocks also facilitated the sales of other construction materials.

Wholesale sales were organized with the help of two salesmen in charged of visiting hardware and construction materials businesses in Puerto Rico and offering them treated wood, construction materials, and other lines of products. The number of salesmen later was increased.

1985 Toro Oil Center was created with the purpose of whosaling oils and lubricants with the backing of Texaco Puerto Rico and other organizations and friends.
